Angela Basset is such a SLAY Queen🔥!!! For many years, I’ve always admired her as an amazing actress, director, producer, wife, and mom. What has really drawn me is her dedication to how she takes care of herself. She is 63 and stunningly graces so many stages. As I do, she believes in eating smartly and exercising vigorously which leads me to my question for you today. Are You Fit To Lead? In my opinion, being fit to lead is one of the secret weapons to effective leadership and success. According to the Journal of Managerial Psychology, executives who follow a regular fitness regime were found to be better leaders. Additionally, studies have shown that a leader who invests in their own health and fitness leads to➡️➡️➡️➡️ ✅More engagement with their team ✅Rated significantly higher by their supervisors ✅More apt to excel through intense situations ✅Better equipped to deal with difficult people ✅Tremendous amount of self-confidence
Before I joined the military, I found myself weighing 200 pounds as a junior in high school. Between my junior year and senior year, I lost 40 pounds. While I was in college for a year, I lost another 20 pounds and entered the military at my maximum allowable weight. I struggled with maintaining my weight loss over the next 10 years and one day, I decided to change my health and wellness perspective from being a short-term commitment to becoming a long-term commitment. I completely changed my workout routines and my eating plans and not only did I become stronger physically and mentally, but it allowed me to achieve the highest level of leadership at a military base amongst the enlisted ranks. Carve out time to exercise and eat smartly. People are depending on you to show up ready to tackle the many challenges leadership brings! Keep on SLAYin’ until you can’t SLAY no more!
