Take Your Foot Off The Brake

When we moved to Maryland, I wasn’t ready to drive in this crazy traffic! Your head has to be on a swivel at ALL times😱Between lanes ending without warning, people driving way too fast, people not really understanding how merging lanes work, and leaving an hour early just to drive 10 miles down the road so you can get there on time, my foot was constantly on the brake. I was giving myself a good daily dose of car and motion sickness😳

Now after a year of being here, I’m getting to be a pro at weaving in and out of this traffic (a little scary at times) and doing a better job anticipating the moves of the other drivers so my foot isn’t on the brake as much but I’m still using them quite a bit🤣

Now, I look at this in comparison to my life since retirement.

I had to take my foot off the brake and start using more of the gas pedal. I’m still experimenting and figuring out how I want to best spend my time, but I’m not ready to spend my day rocking in my patio rocking chair.

It’s never too late to find out what you like to do and just go for it!

When we let go of fears, insecurities, and hesitations, there’s a whole highway of open lanes…aka “opportunities” we can learn more about (not until you get about 30 miles outside of the DMV🤣)

Take your foot off the brake and keep SLAYin’ until you can’t SLAY no more🔥🔥🔥
